The Public Health Nursing team at Nashoba Associated Boards of Health aims to promote wellness across the lifespan in our 16 member communities following the Scope and Standards of Public Health Nursing as outlined by the American Nurses Association. In an effort to prevent disease and promote health throughout the district, the nursing team:
Our staff is considered the "Town Nurse" for our communities and they are available for consultation M-F 8 AM - 4:30 PM at 978-772-3335
Interpreter services are available through a remote interpreter language services provider.
We think about health and wellness utilizing a "Social Determinants of Health" model. Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) "are the conditions in the environments where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks" (U.S. HHS, Healthy People 2030). In Massachusetts, SDOH are divided into six categories: Built Environment, Education, Employment, Housing, Social Environment, and Violence. In our work, we are mindful of these factors and how they may impact the health of our community members, especially the underserved and at-risk.
